Nothing Aaron Rodgers does should stun us at this point. However, tonight seemed to leave many people in shock after Rodgers returned from injury to erase a 20-point Bears lead in a 24-23 Packers victory on Sunday night in Week 1 action.
During the first half, Chicago seized control of the game offensive and saw their defense harass Rodgers. Eventually, Chicago’s pressure led to Rodgers suffering a leg injury. While things appeared to be dire when Rodgers was carted off by Green Bay’s medical personnel, he returned to action at the start of the second half.
Even though he clearly was pained and struggled to the throw ball using his legs, Rodgers still managed to deliver.
The NFL’s highest paid player struck the game’s decisive blow when he connected on a 75-yard touchdown strike to Randall Cobb to cap the comeback.
Moments earlier, Rodgers avoided disaster when Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller dropped a game-sealing interception. The Packers quarterback made the Bears pay the ultimate price.
Packers radio play-by-play man Wayne Larrivee has danced this dance before with Rodgers and was on the call for another spectacular moment in the future Hall of Famer’s career.
